Russia’s “Black88” and Mikita “fish2013” Badziakouski Chop SCOOP’s $25K High Roller

2017 Spring Championship of Online Poker’s (SCOOP) massive $25,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em 8-Max High Roller Event played down to winner early yesterday.

PokerStars guaranteed a $2 million prize pool for the 2-day event and players were allowed to make one additional re-entry for $25,000 during the late registration period. The actual prize pool ended up being well over $3 million after a total of 125 entries were made.

The final day started with several big names still in contention. However, many of them were eliminated before reaching the money, including Ben “Ben86” Tollerene, Dan “mrGR33N13” Colman, Sami “LrsLzk” Kelopuro and Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky. The unfortunate bubble boy was Scott “gunning4you” Seiver, who had fired two bullets for $50,000.

Eventually, Russia’s “Black88” and Mikita “fish2013” Badziakouski faced each other heads-up for the title. Badziakouski, who is a regular in Macau’s high-stakes cash games, made a deal with “Black88” in the heads-up play, that left $40,000 to play for:

In the final hand of the tournament, Badziakouski shoved with and ran into BIack88’s . The pocket aces held and “BIack88” took down the tournament for over $700,000 payday and his second SCOOP title, while Badziakouski received over $569,000 for his runner-up finish.
